The BVA is an independent legal structure which takes the form of a vzw / asbl, a legal structure for a non-profit organisation under Belgian law. It has its own “rechtspersoonlijkheid” / “personnalité juridique”. Its full name is the “BELGIAN VENTURE CAPITAL & PRIVATE EQUITY ASSOCIATION”, a name which was introduced in March 2007. Until then, the association had the name “BELGIAN VENTURING ASSOCIATION”. The BVA members are represented at the General Assembly which elects and appoints a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is in charge of representing the BVA.
