To support Capricorn Partners’ growth, the Board of Directors is enlarged with two executive members who will also strengthen the Company’s Executive Committee:

Mrs Katrin Geyskens will be responsible for venture and growth investments in Digital and Health.

Katrin brings more than twenty years of investment experience to the Capricorn team. She started a career in banking and management consulting followed by a move to a start-up. She was the first female president of the BVA and served on their board of directors for ten years. Next to working for Capricorn, Katrin is a council member of VARIO, board member of Guberna and a member of the supervisory board of EIT Digital. In 2020, she was named one of Belgium’s ‘Inspiring Fifty’ Women in Tech, an award celebrating inspiring female leaders in technology.

Katrin has a Master of Business Economics: Business Engineering (KU Leuven) and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Mr Rob van der Meij will be responsible for venture and growth investments in Cleantech.

Rob is a chemical engineer who has held business management positions with Akzo Nobel and Shell Chemicals. Rob was one of the founders and the CEO of KiOR in the United States, and he has worked as the CEO for several other start-ups in chemicals and water technology. He is a seasoned investor in start-ups, both privately and as a partner at Capricorn Partners, and he currently serves on the board of several Sustainable Chemistry start-ups in the EU and the US.

Rob has a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Delft, did the business administration program at the Amsterdam School of Finance, and he has completed the New Board Program at Nyenrode Business University.
